Title: Chore Person

 

Reports to:  OARS Service Coordinator

 

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for providing individual chore services according to specified plan to customers at risk for or experiencing a disability.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES

 

1.      Ability to implement chore services as planned in partnership with families, and other team members.

 

2.      Has strong communication skills with diverse populations including; families, customers, team members and the public.

 

3.      Contributes to the professional reputation of the agency.

 

 

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

Must be 18 years or older. Must have current CPR certification (AHA Health Care Provider or ARC CPR for the Professional Rescuer), current Alaska driver’s license, liability insurance, federal background check, current TB test, and proof of MMR immunization.

1.      Implements chore services as planned in partnership with customers, families and other team members. (KSA)

 

Function: Implements plan in partnership with families and other team members

 

Standards:

 

a)      Follows customer developed chore service task sheet as scheduled and authorized.

 

b)      Follows specific instructions from the supervisor, individual being served, and their family.

 

c)      Implements services in a manner sensitive to the individual being served, and their family members

 

d)     Maintains mutually respectful boundaries with families and customers.

 

e)      Interacts with other service providers in a professional manner.

 

f)       Assists with orientation and training of other service providers as requested by supervisor.

 

2.      Has strong communication skills with diverse populations including; customer, families, team members and the public (KSA)

 

Function:  Communicates with customers, families, team members and the public in

a positive manner.

 

Standards:

 

a)      Seeks regular feedback from customers and families, regarding the effectiveness of services.

 

b)      Adapts to communication styles of individuals from different cultural backgrounds.

 

c)      Is dependable and follows through on commitments.

 

d)     Sets and maintains professional boundaries with family and customers.

a)      Locates and refers to agency policy manual.

 

b)      Asks for clarification regarding policies/procedures/regulations from supervisor.
