This position is responsible for participating as a team member implementing customer service plans with children, adults or seniors.  Work is primarily within one program, but may include work with Children’s Mental Health or Senior and Developmental Disability Services.  Services may include teaching skills, providing guidance and structure, personal care, household chores, transportation, and providing respite for the primary caregiver. Customers served include children and adults experiencing intellectual, developmental and physical disabilities or severe emotional disturbances, and seniors experiencing a level of a disability that causes them to be at risk of having to be institutionalized.  Services occur in the home, community, employment and school environments.  All Community Connections employees are expected to contribute to the professional reputation of the agency through understanding and promoting the organization’s mission and core values in all aspects of services.

Children’s Developmental Specialist I (click for job description)

Community Connections Children’s Mental Health Program is looking for a full-time Service Coordinator – This position is responsible for coordinating individualized support services for children experiencing severe emotional disturbance and their families. The Service Coordinator is the main hub of information for a client, the staff working with them, and the external collaborators.  In collaboration with a Child and Family Therapist, this position provides supervision and leadership for direct service staff that work in the schools and community. Community Connections is seeking a motivated and flexible Child and Family Therapist to provide family centered services on Prince of Wales Island. The position operates within a wrap-around, trauma-informed and family-centered perspective, providing direct therapeutic intervention as well as extensive collaboration with a team of paraprofessionals serving the client and family. Foster Care Coordinator – Children’s Mental Health (click for job description)

With supervision of the Foster Care Manager, the Foster Care Coordinator assists in managing therapeutic foster homes in Ketchikan and on Prince of Wales Island. This position collaborates closely with team members from theChildren’s Mental Health program as well as State of Alaska employees. Job duties include tracking compliance, quality and development of the agency’s foster care program as well as supporting the processes for licensing, reporting and filing.
