Tandra Thompson
Executive Director
Tandra Thompson joined the Community Connections team in the summer of 2021 as the Children’s Mental Health Director. She brings over 20 years of experience working with children, families, and elders in roles including respite care, wilderness therapy, early education, special education, parent education, and elder care. Her career reflects a deep and enduring commitment to supporting individuals across the lifespan through compassionate, community-centered services. In Alaska, Tandra has served as a foster parent, teacher, child care manager, social services coordinator, and statewide trainer in early intervention and child care programming. Her undergraduate and graduate studies focused on best practices for promoting child, family, and community health, grounding her work in evidence-based approaches and a systems perspective.
Tandra believes that every step of her journey has led her to Community Connections. In April 2025, she was honored to step into the role of Executive Director. She brings a broad and inclusive vision to her leadership, with a strong commitment to human development, family systems, continuity of care, dignity, and quality of life for all those served by the agency. Her approach emphasizes collaboration, equity, and innovation across all departments. Since 2009, Tandra has lived in Ketchikan with her family, where she has raised her children while enjoying the beauty of the community and the warmth of its people. After graduating from Kayhi, he moved to Idaho and began working as a direct service provider and has worked in social services ever since. In his professional career, Tyler has primarily provided services to individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD), however he has also worked with adolescents in residential treatment and still currently works with adolescents through regular volunteer work in the community. Prior to moving back to Ketchikan, Tyler spent several years overseeing group homes for adults with IDD outside of Seattle. Much of his time with Community Connections was spent overseeing services at Opportunity House and more recently he has worked as the Disability Services Manager for Ketchikan. In April of 2022, after completion of his BA in Human Services, he transitioned to his current role as the SDS Program director. Tyler believes strongly in the Mission of Community Connections and deeply values Person-Centered and Customer-Directed services. Outside of work, Tyler enjoys spending time in nature with his wife and two daughters.

Victoria Gould
Children's Mental Health Program Director (CMH)
Victoria started her professional career as a teacher for hearing impaired children, and although she found her years teaching very rewarding, she realized her passion lay in helping children with their social-emotional well-being. So, she returned to school and started her new career as a psychologist. In this role, she worked in community mental health, birth to three programs, foster care, within the school setting, and eventually private practice. In 2023, she moved to Ketchikan full-time and started working as a clinician in Community Connections Children’s Mental Health, and then as Clinical Director for the program. Victoria’s values and commitment to service closely align with Community Connection’s mission and she is very excited to steward an incredible program as it helps children and families in the Ketchikan and POW community.
