Stellar Staff January – Ariel Christopher

Ariel Christopher: Bringing Energy and Heart to Children’s Mental Health

When Ariel Christopher first heard about Community Connections, it was through family. Her uncle, a former employee, knew it would be the perfect fit for someone as passionate about mental health as she is, and HE WAS RIGHT! Since joining the CMH team, Ariel has become a vibrant presence in the program known for her creativity, dedication, and ability to make every child feel valued.

Ariel’s favorite part of her work is teaching kids skills that will last a lifetime like emotional regulation, social interaction, and independent living. She says, “Watching a child’s confidence bloom as they master these skills is what keeps me motivated. Families notice the progress too, and I love being part of that shared journey of growth and support.”

Of course, the job isn’t without challenges. Some days, kids arrive reluctant to participate, and progress can feel slow. She approaches these moments with empathy, reminding herself that learning happens at different paces. “They’re not giving me a hard time,” she says. “They’re having a hard time.” That perspective helps her meet each child where they are.

Outside of work, Ariel enjoys quiet moments with a good book, often accompanied by music or a favorite show playing in the background. Her roots stretch from Anchorage to Oregon, with summers spent in Ketchikan, a place she now calls home.

Her supervisors describe her as fun, energetic, and deeply caring. Ariel’s festive attire and holiday spirit brighten the workplace, and her willingness to go the extra mile by staying late, helping with projects, and ensuring clients are safe really sets her apart. Her passion for helping others shines through in everything she does.

Congratulations to Ariel Christopher, our January 2026 Stellar Staff! Her commitment and heart remind us why Community Connections is such a special place.
