Trampus Conatser grew up in Havre, Montana, a place rich in history that he always enjoyed learning about. His favorite things about Montana are the big blue skies, the smell of sweet grass, and the serene moments when the sun rises, and the dew evaporates.
In June 2016, he found himself working off Island and saw an opportunity to join Community Connections locally. Having spent seven years working at Craig schools, he was eager to continue his passion for working with kids and the community. The supportive atmosphere at Community Connections, with its dedicated staff and supervisors, made him feel appreciated both then and now. His time away from Community Connections highlighted how vital this supportive environment was to him. Returning in October 2024 was a reminder of the significant impact he could make in his local community through working at Community Connections.
As a Support Specialist, his favorite part of working with CMH is interacting with different kiddos. With SDS, he enjoys finding new approaches to each day, which keeps the job exciting and varied. “Whether it’s a great day or a challenging one, the dynamic nature of the role sharpens my skills and keeps everyone engaged.” Trampus says when asked about his duties. “It’s an interesting career that offers both fun and growth.” He thinks some of the biggest challenges are balancing the responsibilities of SDS and CMH with all his clients. There are times when he wished he could be in two places at once but manages by prioritizing tasks and staying organized.
In his free time, he is actively involved in his teenage kids’ sports and activities, coaching them in basketball, baseball, and wrestling. Trampus also volunteers for Craig EMS and Craig Volunteer Fire Department. My family and I enjoy walks with our dog, Sam, and loves camping, fishing, and hiking together. His favorite family activities include watching movies and playing board games. We cherish our time together at church, where we grow in our faith as a family. When asked why he moved to Alaska he says “Alaska’s beauty and wonder are unparalleled. There is so much to see and explore that I doubt we’ll ever cover it all. I appreciate our small, tight-knit communities and the strong sense of belonging they provide.”
Trampus was voted for the Stellar Staff Award by Tamera Ritcher who said “Trampus is a repeat hire. He has always worked with our DD customers and is now a shared staff with CMH. He is energetic and his customers really enjoy working with him. It can be a struggle getting used to working two different programs, but Trampus is learning and getting it down. He always has a smile on his face and does his best at all times. He likes to work outside the box and do what is best for the customers he works with. We are happy to have him back on our team.”
Thank you, Trampus, for your dedication to our communities and your on-going commitment to the Community Connections team.
