At Community Connections, we are proud to recognize team members who go above and beyond in supporting the families we serve. This month, we’re honored to spotlight Mindy Trozelle, a Developmental Specialist whose dedication, compassion, and energy make a lasting impact every day.
That connection with families is at the heart of everything Mindy does. Whether she’s supporting communication development or simply offering encouragement, Mindy creates an environment where both children and parents feel supported, understood, and empowered.
Mindy’s supervisor, Brynn Bolling, perfectly captures what makes her so special:
“Mindy is a speech-therapy assistant extraordinaire! She goes above and beyond in her work with families. She loves working with families and families love working with her.” Those who work with Mindy often notice her genuine passion and positivity. She brings patience, creativity, and a heartfelt commitment to every interaction. These are qualities that reflect not just her professionalism, but her care for the people she serves.
Growing up on Prince of Wales Island, Mindy developed a deep appreciation for community, connection, and the outdoors. Life in a close-knit, rural area helped shape her caring nature and strong sense of support for those around her qualities that continue to shine through in her work today. Her roots on POW Island are reflected in the way she builds relationships. When asked what she likes about her job her response is the families are absolutely my favorite part. Relationships and social interaction are necessary for positive quality of life. It’s so helpful when you can love your job and what you do even on the days that you’d rather not go to work (come on, we all go there). It’s the families, even the challenging parts, that inspire me to show up for them. I love seeing when things just seem to click during their daily routines. I even love facilitating community parent support groups, even when some parents would rather not be there, because I know I can infuse a small spark to build on their relationships.
We are incredibly grateful for the passion and commitment Mindy brings to her role each day.
