Stellar Staff December – Diane Deniger

Diane was born in Rhode Island and grew up in New Hampshire and Maine. In 1993 she made the big move to Alaska, fell in love with it here and she has no plans on leaving!

In 2000, Diane was recommended to Community Connections by a friend, applied and began her journey with us as a Support Specialist with SDS. She left for a bit, but couldn’t stay away for long. She returned to our employment in May of 2012 and has been with us ever since. She has held multiple positions including Support Specialist, Program Associate, Service Coordinator and is now our Office Services Coordinator in the Craig office.

A favorite part of her job is her coworkers. She says, “I really enjoy them, and they are always supportive when life throws a curve ball. They are my extended family, and I appreciate them all.”

A part of her position that she sometimes finds challenging is making it to work in the Craig office (50 miles from home!) due to weather conditions as well as organizing/reorganizing cars and lodging for traveling staff when their plans change due to weather conditions.

Her supervisor says, “Diane’s dedication is reflected in the meaningful contributions that she does daily for our team at Community Connections. She is an incredible staff, whose personality shines bright the minute someone walks into our office, and she greets them in a way that always makes everyone feel welcome. Thank you, Diane, for everything that you do! We value you, your hard work and appreciate all that you do to keep things flowing. We couldn’t do it without you and your amazing multi-tasking skills.”

In her free time, Diane enjoys reading, knitting, crocheting, hiking and fishing! Her favorite book genre is biographical, and her favorite book is Cradle to Stage.

Thank you, Diane, for your dedication to Community Connections, our staff and the people we serve!
