Jeremiah works in Ketchikan with individuals who experience developmental disabilities.
Favorite part of your job?
Going to the recreation center with customers, anything active. Especially swimming! Every day is new, with different challenges and different goals to meet.
Biggest challenge?
We’re all human… we have good days and bad days. So, when a customer is having a bad day, just working through that.
Origin Story
Jeremiah used to work at Walmart, and he got to know several other employees who worked there with the support of job coaches through Community Connections. He got an invite to join in Special Olympics, met more Community Connections customers, and ended up applying for a job with CC!
World Traveler
Jeremiah likes having some flexibility in his job, and he’s been able to travel to several countries the past few years. He enjoys taking photos and reading books. He is currently in consideration to appear on the show Survivor.
We feature staff as part of our monthly Stellar Staff Spotlight. The spotlight rotates between programs (Children’s Mental Health, Early Learning, and Senior & Disability Services), and between Ketchikan and Prince of Wales, with a focus on recognizing direct service staff.
