Since joining Community Connections in 2021, Jelikah has made a lasting impact through her compassion, advocacy, and commitment to helping children and families thrive.

Jelikah was drawn to Community Connections because it offered the opportunity to continue working with children while growing professionally. She says, “Being able to serve the same community that shaped me, is something I’m very grateful for.”

What she loves most about her role is building relationships with families, helping them navigate challenges, and celebrating their successes along the way. “Seeing a family smile or feel a sense of relief makes every effort worthwhile.”

When families face obstacles beyond their control, Jelikah works to connect them with resources and support, focusing on what can be accomplished together. Her positive attitude and dedication make a meaningful difference in the lives of those she serves.

Her supervisor says, “Since stepping into her role as Lead Service Coordinator, Jelikah has embraced leadership with confidence and genuine compassion. Jelikah goes above and beyond to ensure children and families receive the support they need, while maintaining a strong commitment to teamwork and mentoring our staff. Outside of work, Jelikah enjoys traveling, exploring new places, trying things she’s never done before and spending time outdoors. She feels these experiences help her learn and grow and see things from different perspectives.

Born in the Philippines and raised largely in Ketchikan, she is grateful for the opportunity to serve the community she calls home while staying connected to her roots and family abroad.
