Throughout her life, Tandra Thompson has had an interest in human development and working with underserved populations. This helped bring her to Community Connections.
Tandra started as our new program director for Children’s Mental Health in early August. This isn’t her first professional experience with the agency, however, as she has worked alongside Community Connections staff during her time at PeaceHealth, the school district, and the Pioneer Home.
“It seems like every single job that I’ve had, I’ve been connected to Community Connections,” Tandra said.
Tandra has extensive experience working with all the focus populations of Community Connections, according to Deputy Director and former CMH director Maxwell Mercer.
One aspect of the director position that Tandra is looking forward to is helping affect widespread change.
“I’m really excited about this job, because I’ve always been a direct service provider,” Tandra said. “So the thing that was really intriguing to me was, ‘How can I make a difference on a bigger platform with a wider spread? How can I be part of program development and training?’”
