For close to a decade, our Stellar Staff member for September has provided dedicated and thoughtful service to customers in both our Senior & Disability Services and Older Alaskans and Adult Resources programs.

Ron Burton, a born and raised Ketchikanite, is a Support Specialist II in SDS. He splits his time between working clients in the OARS program and residents of the Deermount Apartments.

Working with OARS customers can include helping them out of bed and into the shower; helping clients get dressed and ready for the day; and assisting with meals. At DMA, Ron helps residents with habilitative goals ranging from laundry to brushing teeth and putting the right amount of toothpaste on the toothbrush.

Ron’s favorite part of the job is interacting with customers and working with his fellow staff members. He uses his free time for rest and relaxation.

Glen Fazakerly described Ron as very steady, very responsible, and very careful to follow protocol.

“Ron has a very gentle approach with our customers,” Glen said. “He does his job, does it well, and gets along with everyone.”
